On April 8 the Alpha Psi Alpha Sorority and Girl Scouts at Longfellow Elementary will be mailing letters to the troops overseas.

Also volunteering to write letters will be Praise Fellowship, Assembly of God Church in Sheboygan. The letters will be headed "Dear Troops," where the troop being written to may be a male or a female. The letters will be mailed through Sandy Walters, the Girl Scout organizer at Longfellow Elementary. Along with the many letters sent from the Girl Scouts will be homemade cookies.

If anyone is interested in writing to the troops or sending snacks to them, contact Pattrice Pettigrew at 565-1806 and she can put you in contact with Walters.

The Alpha Psi Alpha Sorority on Lakeland's campus decided to write to the troops when it was brought to their attention by one of their sisters, Pettigrew, who is volunteering with Girl Scouts as a part of her student as practitioner activity for her Spanish class. Pettigrew is the co-leader for Longfellow school where the idea was suggested by Walters.
