For those of you not yet aware, White Wolf is a table top RPG company. They have created a world that mirrors earth called the World of Darkness. They have made three or four other games on top of this. Their newest role playing game is called "Exalted."

The game takes on an anime feel. The game stresses doing visual stunts that are unrealistic and includes large swords and the like. If you do not have a vivid imagination, this game will only bore you. Those of you with an imagination will have a blast, allowing them to get away from reality. They even help out those that plan on doing something completely ridiculous with bonuses so you will want to do it again.

The first book is the core book. This has all the game mechanics and the background to Creation, the world Exalted takes place on. With this book you can play either mortals or Solar Exalted. Solar Exalted are the true kings of Creation but were over thrown. As a Solar you must keep alive when the religion of Creation is hunting you down.

Out of all the books, the Solars are the most anime based. They are the ones with incredible talent who are normally overlooked. They must remain that way too, as showing their true power can lead to their demise at the hands of jealous on lookers. The mood is fairly up beat, though it is still possible to have a dark game. Solar is one of the most versatile games, as any person of talent can become a Solar. Every Solar Exalted has a special soul that chooses a person with exceptional talent. So anyone may exalt at any time or place. This allows many more opportunities then some of the other games.

The second main book, based on the Exalted, is the Terrestrial Exalted, or Dragon Blooded. These are the lowest Exalted who overthrew all the other Exalted. As one of them you rule the Realm, the majority of Creation. The game is very political as there is a battle for the throne.

There are definitely areas left for open exploration, but it's harder to explain why you are not part of the Realm since Dragon Blooded are decided by blood line instead of a souls possessing them. The Dragon Blooded are also in control of the religion, the Immaculate Order, which you can take part in as a monk. You can also be a politician in the Deliberative, a congress of sorts. You can take part as a spy and assassin for the political ambitions of others. You can even become an officer in the Legion. There are still few restrictions, but everything has an underlying theme of intrigue, compared to the carefree Solar game.
