April Arvan named interim athletic director

President Stephen Gould today announced that April Arvan, head women's basketball coach, has been named interim Athletic Director. Arvan will assume many of Jane Bouche's athletic director duties while Bouche serves as interim admissions director. Arvan graduated from Lakeland in 1991 with a degree in secondary education. She received her M.Ed from Lakeland in 1993 In 1994 Arvan was appointed head coach of Lakeland's women's basketball team. Under Arvan's leadership, the team has compiled a 190 - 48 win/loss record.
"April is an individual of high character and integrity," Bouche stated. "I am sure she will do an excellent job. I look forward to working with her."
