The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) in compliance with federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements has recently released data on the quality of the College's drinking water and the systems which deliver it. The information is included as part of the Community Water Supply Systems program and is contained in the Consumer Confidence Reports (CCRs), required by Federal Regulations. The CCR for this past year is now available for review and has been posted throughout the campus on bulletin boards in residence halls and in other public locations. The CCR released for the College confirms the safety of the College's drinking but does list trace amounts of certain inorganic contaminants. The existence of such trace amounts is not considered to pose a health risk to the general population. However, persons with certain health conditions should review the list and if necessary consult a health care provider to understand whether they may be at increased risk. None of the trace amounts of inorganic contaminants found in the College water constitutes a violation of either WDNR or Federal water quality standards. The College is committed to fully cooperating with the WDNR and the EPA to ensure the safety of its water and the systems which deliver it.
