The Muskies then traveled to Marian College of Fond du Lac for a conference double header. Again, things just weren't going the women's way as they lost both by scores of 6-4 and 8-3. The first game featured freshman Cathy Collins swinging away with a stat line showing 2 for 3 hitting, two RBIs and two runs while another freshman, Darcie Okimosh, took over the offense in the second game going 3 of 4 with one RBI and one run. Head Coach Jill Staff said of these two players, "They've been hitting very well for us." Again, Schmidt took the losses for these two seven inning games.
The Muskies returned home on April 14 to sweep Wisconsin Lutheran winning 6-4 and 20-12. In the first game, the women had a whopping 14 hits out of 29 at bats and banged out 20 hits the second game. Okimosh again was on fire going 8 for 10, bringing in seven RBIs, and coming around for five runs over the two game span. Senior Jenny Paul and freshman Jamie Tucker had an identical stat line in the first game going 2 for 3 each with one run. Schmidt picked up the win from the mound. Fellow freshman Michelle Hammers joined Collins in a standout second game. Hammers went 3 for 5 with three RBI's and four runs while Collins went 4 for 6 with five RBI's. Hammers also received the win moving her record to 2-5.
The women picked up two more conference wins by downing Maranatha Baptist. With the scoreboard showing 7-3 and 11-1 in favor of the Muskies, Tucker lit it up the first game going 3 for 4 with one RBI and two runs while Hammers picked up another win as the hurler. Sophomore Stephanie Ihnat, hit well the second game while Schmidt received the win.
Two more wins against Edgewood moved Lakeland's conference record to 6-2 which is where it's at now. Schmidt pitched the shutout with the score being 1-0 and Hammers controlled the tempo from the mound picking up the win. Okimosh went 3 for 3 and Collins had four RBI's in the second game, where the score was 4-1. Staff said, "Our pitchers have been pitching really well even though it might not show all the time due to our errors. I have to give credit to them."
