New Faculty in the Classrooms

Lakeland has added seven new faculty members to its roster for the 2003-2004 school year.
Eugene Bechen will be directing Lakeland's concert band and serving as assistant professor of music. Bechen comes from Indiana State University, where he was a member of the music faculty.
The psychology department welcomes assistant professor, Stephanie Danner, who finished a clinical psychology internship with the Indiana University Medical Center. Danner earned her doctorate degree from Bowling Green University.
Wayne Homstad is an assistant professor of education. He has taught English courses for 30 years in the Sheboygan Area School District, earning a spot as one of the district's most respected educators. Homstad earned his doctorate from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.
Rhea Klenovich is a visiting assistant professor of history and political science. Klenovich has been an assistant professor at Savannah State University's department of social and behavioral sciences for the past two years.
The criminal justice department welcomes Brandon Kooi as assistant professor. He comes to Lakeland from Michigan State University where he earned his doctorate in criminal justice, and where he taught several courses.
Jeffery Schwehm, assistant professor of biochemistry, will begin teaching during the spring semester. Schwehm earned his doctorate degree in biochemistry from the University of Arkansas.
Gregory Smith is an assistant professor of biology. He taught biology at UW-Whitewater last year after earning his doctorate in molecular genetics from the University of Oregon.
