The third and final movie in the Matrix series has finally hit the theatres. With Matrix: Revolutions coming out a year after Matrix: Reloaded, the public was expecting something spectacular. I was expecting a great ending. The general public may have been let down, but I got everything I was expecting.
The Matrix: Revolutions again stars Keanu Reeves (Neo), Carrie-Ann Moss (Trinity), and Laurence Fishburne (Morpheus). Other characters that have become more prominent on the screen since Matrix: Reloaded are: Jada Pinkett Smith (Naobe) and Hugo Weaving (Smith).
The movie begins with Neo still comatose. Morpheus and Trinity are instructed by the oracle (Mary Alice) to save Neo. When Neo is saved, he sees the oracle, as does Smith after Neo leaves. Neo realizes what he must do, as it culminates in a big battle with Smith that will control the fate of the world. The machines have also invaded Zion, and it doesn't look like humanity will hold out. I will not spoil the end for you, as you can see the movie yourself.
As far as movies go, Matrix: Revolutions was not as good as Matrix: Reloaded. But that was what I was expecting because it was wrapping up the Matrix series. Others were expecting a spectacular movie that would outdo Matrix: Reloaded. I guess you have to base your desire to see the movie on your expectations.
