There are many students wandering Lakeland's campus in search of things to do. Since most students do not take the time to look at the flyers posted on the entrances to buildings, I have compiled things to do in the area when boredom has taken over. This is a quick list of activities that are fun and educational alternatives to relaxing in a dorm room, watching television.

Lakeland's fall play is now showing at the Bradley Center. "Ravenscroft," a murder-mystery/comedy written by Don Nigro, runs from Thursday, November 20 through Sunday, November 23 at 8:00 p.m.

There will be a special outdoor luminary service in the Echo Circle in front of the Laun Center on Thursday, November 20. The special Thanksgiving celebration of prayer and song begins at 9:00 p.m. Snacks and hot cocoa will follow the service.

The John Michael Kohler Arts Center is putting on Teen Open Mic Nights throughout the year. Whether as a performer or spectator, an open mic night is always an interesting experience. Dates for the open mic nights are November 20, January 15, February 12, March 18, April 15, and May 20. The night runs from 6:30p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The 14th annual bowling tournament will be held on Tuesday, December 2 at 9:30 p.m. The event is run by LC-CAB and will be hosted at JB's Entertainment Center in Howards Grove. There is a $50 tournament entry fee for a team of five people. The $50 will buy participants pizza, soda, bowling, shoes, and a shirt. Teams must sign up by November 21 in the Younger Family Campus Center.

The Ley Chapel on campus will celebrate the hanging of the chapel greens on Wednesday, December 3. It will take place at 11:00 a.m. in the Ley Chapel with a service following.

Another staple of the Lakeland experience is the Christmas at Lakeland celebration. Christmas at Lakeland 2003 will be held on Saturday, December 6 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 7 at 3:00 p.m. On both days there will be a combined band and choral concert followed by the lighting of the campus tree. There will also be a buffet dinner served at Bossard Hall from 4:30p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
