The meeting began with an IGC announcement that there will be a Greek Christmas drive on December 15 that includes things such as Toys for Tots.

Next, Tourtellott and Kaczmarek, in student services, tallied up the results of their survey. It showed that most people would rather have a yearbook instead of the yeardisk and that the Safe Space program is a good idea to most students.

In residence life, Van Ginkle mentioned that Lakeland does not have copies of classroom textbooks in the library as many other colleges do.

Business then moved to multicultural affairs, and Akashi reported that they are trying to raise money for a Japanese cultural night for next semester. They have budgeted $600 but only have $100. They have asked SA to donate money. SA will vote on an amount at the next meeting.

Next, Pluskat in IT reported that the $50 internet fee charged to students includes anti-virus software.

Business moved to the valentine dance, and it was announced that the committee has made it a goal to be done with plans by Christmas. Nick Hunter will be DJing and will set up a music suggestion box in the Campus Center. Many organizations will be helping out; the Alphas will be selling roses.

Van Ginkle and Field have addressed the campus discount card programming. They have compiled a list of places that will be on the card.

AED cases were then discussed. The cases are ordered. It was brought up that one of the machines helped to save a faculty member's life last week.

In other business, nine members of AHSA are planning on going on a retreat that costs each person $500. They have been fundraising. They have asked SA for a $500 donation. SA will decide at the next meeting.

New business was then brought up and VanGinkle said he is working on the signs and maps for the disk golf course. He promised that it would done by the end of Thanksgiving break.

Business then turned to SA's Monster Bowl '03. The event went very well. There were no major problems. Pfeifer suggested ending it earlier next year to avoid conflicts. Also, because of the amount of people who came, SA will want to look into renting a bigger facility.
