A quarterback is a person who can manage the field during crucial times, throw the ball on target to the right receiver, and even improvise by running the ball himself. Quarterbacks who can do all three will put many points onto the scoreboard.

The Lakeland Muskie football team put up 40.1 points per game during the 2003 season and finished with a record of 8-2. Hence, Brent Luebke, senior quarterback of the Lakeland Muskie football team, must have possessed all three qualities.

Luebke grew up in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. He started playing football at a young age in sandlots. Growing up as a bigger kid, Luebke took on the role of quarterback in these sandlot games and always picked the smaller kids to be on his team because he wanted them to feel good when they still beat the other kids.

Organized football started in the sixth grade for Luebke as he played for the Junior Ramblers. He assumed the quarterback role right away. This organized play continued through high school at Two Rivers and through college at Lakeland.

Luebke has achieved many awards at Lakeland and has just recently received the award for Best all around back in the IBFC. Also, he gained a total of 2,532 yards (2,116 passing, 416 rushing) by himself, which is about 58% of the total yards gained by the Lakeland offense this year.

Football has been a lifetime love for Luebke as he enjoys playing the game anytime, even in his free time. The friendship, comradery, and competition are the reasons he plays this game. Not only is the game a great love for him, but playing quarterback has always been a passion for Luebke. He enjoys the leadership and ability to make plays. He said that his best attributes playing quarterback are his arm strength and running ability.

The aspiration of Luebke is to coach high school football. He has been learning a lot about the game from a coach's perspective by going to many athletic events. After this year, he wants to proceed into a football club or league to stay active.
