The days are filled with classes, work, homework, and social events. Few people wonder what they should be doing at these times because the day is just that busy. But then there are those of us who- despite it being late at night after a tiring day- cannot sleep.
3:30am
It's a week day, and your friends are asleep by two in the morning; TV is worthless because no self respecting program exec wants this timeslot. Most stores are closed, since the city shuts down around five in the afternoon, and Wal-mart can only be entertaining for so long. So what can one do at this point in the night?
There was a point in time where I finally found something to do. I actually found multiple things to do using only one source of media: the internet. There are plenty of good, clean, or at least semi-clean, sites out there waiting for you to find and explore them.
Site number one is www.badgerbadgerbadger.com. This is a hilarious sight at this ungodly hour when nothing makes sense any more. So it will make for a nice warm up.
However, the gem of all gems comes from the site, www.newgrounds.com. With several off beat portal flashes, this site can keep the most fatigued and bored mind on the edge with hilarity. The humor goes from crude to mildly intelligible, but the one thing that it doesn't lack is content. Madness combat is one of the series I recommend for anyone into a little bit of scuffling. There are also games to pass the time on this site.
A web comic from a group of college students is the next place to spend some early morning hours. Www.Machall.com, drawn by Ian McConville and written by Matt Boyd, covers the misadventures of a group of friends. This site has had me on the floor laughing for the past year. It starts with Ian as a freshman in college trying to adjust and meet people. Eventually he gains a following of quirky friends, just like your own friends, I'm sure. It's mostly based on a group of gamers and the ups and downs of college life, which is something any college student (gamer or not) can at least partially relate to.
