Firehouse Pizza in Sheboygan Falls is my unwitting target this time. When I first walked in, I was extremely impressed with one thing: the amount of wood that was used in the construction; there is wood everywhere. That gave this place quite a boost to me.

I went and sat down with a friend who decided to tag along. The service was very prompt. I was very pleased with that. Our server was quite pleasant. We placed our order for drinks and discussed the options for getting a pizza. We decided to settle on a large pepperoni pizza.

Prices are about what you'd expect for a non-chain pizza house. While it would fit in the average college student's budget, you might be stretching it just a little bit, but that's ok; you need to splurge every once in a while.

Anyone who has ever worked in pizza, or ordered a hell of a lot of it, would know about how long it takes for the average pizza to cook. So I was not surprised to be waiting around 15 minutes for my food.

When it arrived, I thought that there was something wrong because, to me, the pepperoni seemed a little big and thin, almost like prosciutto. Prosciutto is a spicy Italian ham similar to pepperoni. It tastes a little bit different than its sausage style cousin, pepperoni. However, the pizza was awesome. It is some of the best pizza that I have had while I've been in Wisconsin.

The menu selection has multiple Italian offerings, including pasta dishes. I think our total meal, including drinks, came to around 18 dollars. So that's not too bad, but it can get to be a little pricey if you are on a tight budget.

I was seated in the upstairs section, which seems to be a little more informal than the downstairs area, but that's ok. It had a more down to earth feeling. There were all sorts of old photographs on the walls. The walls seemed to be a milky-yellow, which seemed to fit rather well, to bring a subdued attitude to the place. I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere of the place.

The service was nothing really spectacular, but it was good enough. I would have enjoyed a little more interaction with the server; she just seemed a little distant when she was around.

I guess my biggest problem with Firehouse would be the location. Yes, it's in Sheboygan falls, but that's not the reason. Firehouse Pizza kind of blends into its surroundings in Sheboygan falls; there is no real sign telling you where it is. It is in downtown Falls, but that doesn't mean much because you can pass through that in a matter of a minute and half.

All in all, Firehouse Pizza is a pleasant experience, other than trying to find it.
