The goose that had a broken wing and was taking refuge on the pond between Muehelmeier Hall and President Stephen Gould's house has disappeared. It was caught on January 31, but it is unknown at this time as to who has captured it. Gould has speculated that the goose has been taken to a licensed wildlife rehabilitation center, but he is not exactly sure.

Gould and many of the staff and students concerned about its survival were feeding the goose for the past few months. Many of the students and staff were proposing to catch the animals themselves "rather than watch it starve." Gould did not want to put any of the students at risk or further injure the goose.

The goose has been stranded next to the president's house since its wing was damaged. It is not known how the goose was injured, but there are theories abound about it. One theory is that it is the goose that has been here for four to five years and was wounded by flying in to a power line.

Another theory is that the injury occurred during the turmoil that occurred immediately after another goose had been hit by a Frisbee last semester on Wednesday, October 15. It could have been wounded when it tried to escape the fray of powerful flapping wings.
