When fall term ended, the Lakeland College men's basketball team owned disappointing conference (0-2) and overall (4-6) records. Despite a rough outing in the first game of the Clarke College Holiday Tournament, losing to Siena Heights, 69-80, the Muskies bounced back in their next game.

After falling to the V-Hawks, Lakeland again traveled south to Milwaukee to play the Wisconsin Lutheran Warriors. A close game throughout, the Muskies swiped a 67-63 win. Nickel tossed up 24 points and shared the wealth with six assists. Zeck matched points and rebounds with 14 each.

Two home games followed the trip for the men. Maranatha Baptist fell to the mighty Muskies, 71-60. MSOE followed suit to give the Muskies a four game winning streak. MSOE was devoured, 81-69, behind a 36 point effort from Nickel.

Their path took them to Mequon where they played the Concordia Falcons. Lakeland's men kept within two points when the buzzer sounded at the end of the first half, the score at 27-25. The Falcons pulled ahead, though, scoring 43 to Lakeland's 33 in the second half. The final resulted in a disappointing 70-58 loss, breaking the Muskies' winning streak.
