The Perfect Score
By: Corey Kempf
The Marcus Theater in Sheboygan has a policy that if nobody buys a ticket for a movie, then they don't run the movie on that night. Well, there's a reason why "The Perfect Score" hasn't been played since Saturday.
"The Perfect Score," a movie from MTV Films, follows Kyle, played by "Not Another Teen Movie's" Chris Evans, and his underachieving friend Matty (Bryan Greenberg) as they plan to steal the answers to the SAT's in order to get better scores on their retakes. On the way, they recruit a jock (Darius Miles), a brain (Erika Christensen), a nerd (Scarlett Johansson), and a stoner (Leonardo Nam).
First of all, the movie would have been doubled in substance if the script were a little less monosyllabic. This created an irreversible trend of bad acting and even worse character development.
Second, the plot development in this movie was simply awful; it was too hurried to be taken serious. The conflicts seemed forced and weren't monumental. The heist itself was too convenient, and the consequences of it didn't seem to matter to any of the characters.
All that aside, the movie was an overprotective parent's best dream. With characters speaking out against each other's bad habits (cigarettes and marijuana), it seemed odd that none of them had second thoughts about stealing the SAT answers.
You don't have to steal the answers to the SAT in order to realize that skipping this movie is the right answer. I only gave it one fish because The Ataris' "In This Diary" played during the credits.
Miracle

Miracle is a two hour 15 minute "Walt Disney" picture about hockey that makes your pulse-pound and keeps you on the edge of your seat. The movie starts out a little slow letting you in on all the events that were going on in America's history in the 80's. Towards the middle of the movie it is filled with many exciting and fast paced scenes; at times it seems the camera struggled to keep up with the raw speed of hockey.
