The Lakeland Men's Volleyball team has continued to perform well in past match-ups in an 11 game home stretch that resulted in only two losses, both at the hands of Marquette University during the Midwest 10 Tournament February 15 and during a regular conference meeting on February 18, bringing the team to 15-6 and 6-2 in the Wisconsin Volleyball Conference.

Before losing to Marquette during the last game of the Midwest 10 Tournament, the Muskies ran the table on the rest of the competition, beating Illinois State, UW-Milwaukee, and Ball State.

Against Illinois State, Dave Koch recorded nine kills and Matt Martin knocked down eight. Also, Jon Lewicki tallied nine digs and five kills, while Rocky Koenig added 25 assists in the winning effort with scores of 25-17, 23-25, and 18-16, with the tie-breaking third game sealing the win in tournament play.
Next, the team took on UW-Milwaukee and clinched the win in two matches with 25-17 and 25-21. Chris Gornik led the scoring effort with six kills, while Pat Klinkert, Lewicki, and Koch added four kills apiece.

Lakeland continued to roll in the third tournament game with a quarterfinal win against Ball State 25-14 and 25-22. Klinkert was a top scorer once again with six kills and Gornik, Lewicki, and Koch contributed five kills each, while Mark Johnston had 12 assists.

However, in the fourth and final tournament game, the Muskies hit a speed bump with a disappointing loss to Marquette University in the semi-finals 19-25, 27-25, and 10-15, after suffering through hitting 21% as a team.
Lewicki spiked his way into top scoring columns once again with eight kills and four digs. Klinkert added six kills. Also, Koch and Gornik knocked down five kills apiece while setters Johnston and Dan Robinson combined for 29 total assists.

Three days later, Lakeland squared off against Marquette once again looking to avenge the previous loss, but they were disappointed with a second loss in a row to the Golden Eagles in a hard-fought battle that stretched to five matches with scores of 25-21, 23-25, 22-25, 25-21, and 12-15. The leading scorers included Koch with 16 kills and 11 digs and Klinkert with 14 kills. Also, Lewicki tallied 12 kills and 11 digs, while Gornik added 10 kills.
