Welcome to Bushwood circa 1980. That was my first impression of Nino's Steakhouse, conveniently located on the frontage road of Kohler Memorial Drive in Sheboygan. With a generous supply of close parking, the only things missing were Ty and the Judge. Nino's is set up like a country club-albeit a very cheesy country club. My dining companion and I were seated in our booth. A very peculiar thing is we were the first people in the dining room. The bar, on the other hand, seemed rather busy.

Perusing the menu, it becomes very apparent that alcohol is a major player at this establishment. There was a very extensive list of drinks on the very first page of the menu. At the bottom of the drink page they have an ample selection of appetizers, most of which are in the five to seven dollar range. The ensuing pages are overflowing with entrees. The prices range from just barely affordable ($9.99 to $12.99), to you better take out another student loan ($25+). Now I'm not saying this place isn't reasonable, it's just not the typical go out to dinner place unless you are accompanied by a significant other.

Boy, do you get good food though. I ended up settling for the barely affordable price of $12.99 for two 7oz. bacon wrapped pork cutlets and my two sides being a small house salad and steak fries.
Seeing as how my entrée was a little pricy, I decided to stick with water.

The food was promptly delivered and it was piping hot. The pork cutlets were charbroiled to perfection, with the bacon being tender and not burnt (despite my initial reeaction when I found out it was going to be grilled). The portions were good sized, except for the steak fries; I think I was given about five of them. The salad was a typical house salad with one little quirk. The quirk being it only had one tiny grape tomato on it. This was alright for me, because I'm not too keen on tomatoes, but for all of you fruit lovers out there (yes, tomatoes are fruits), you might want to ask for extra tomatoes.

Overall this restaurant is a nice place to eat for the food, but expect to work for a couple of extra weeks if you think you're going to be takling a date here and actually paying for it all. Judging by the style of restaurant (or lack thereof), that would be about the only reason to go to a place like this unless you are entertaining business associates. Oh, and if you should ever decide to pay Nino's a visit... remember the often quoted, rarely understood words of Carl Spackler, the Greens-Keeper of Bushwood... "Gunga. Gunga galunga."
