The annual Homecoming will be held October 11th through October 16th, 2004 with the theme "Blast from the Past!"

Laura LeClair, sophomore and member of LC-CAB, was responsible for organizing the event with the help of her committee. While deciding the theme for this year's Homecoming, LeClair wanted something that everyone could identify with. Preparations for this year's Homecoming week started right at the end of last year.

"I wanted to go with something that represents each era from Lakeland College. I'm really excited and I hope people will have fun. I want people to say this was one of the best Homecomings we had so far", LeClair said.

Homecoming week will kick off with a group competition on Monday night based on a 60's theme. Students can gather a group and play games from 6 pm till 10 pm outside the pub or cheer on their friends.

The week will continue with a 60's, 70's or 80's themed costume dance party on Tuesday going from 9:30 p.m. till 11:30 p.m. in the pub. Prizes will be awarded for the best dressed from each decade.

On Wednesday night, there will be a date auction sponsored by the Black Student Union. The auction will take place at 8 p.m. in Bossard Hall. Students have the chance to support the Black Student Union with their annual fundraiser and bid on their next date.

Continuing with the festivities is the annual Mr. Muskie event on Thursday night at 9 p.m. in the Bradley building, where everyone will get a chance to see who will walk away with the crown. Each year a group of male students dress up as females and compete for the title of "Mr. Muskie". The event is sponsored by the Dance Team.

Friday will be a day to get into the spirit. A parade, a pep rally and the fireworks begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by a concert from Vic Ferrari outside the campus center from 8:30 p.m. till 10:30 p.m. Wear your Lakeland clothes and support the college with the spirit!

The conclusion of Homecoming week will be the game day on Saturday. Anybody can gear up for the athletic competitions by joining the campus-wide tailgate party at 10:30 a.m.
