One loss, one win for Muskies

In a pair of matches at the Concordia Wisconsin triangular on Oct. 7, Lakeland began with a loss to Concordia in five games, 30-23, 30-19, 28-30, 25-30, 15-7. In the second match, Lakeland rebounded to win it in three games 30-18, 31-29, 30-28.
Against Concordia, Lakeland rallied back from losing the first two games. The hitting percentage in the first two games (.020 and .100) was poor, but Lakeland greatly improved in the third and fourth games (.228 and .325). In the final game, Lakeland fell apart with a hitting percentage of -.105.
Kimberly Linger led the team in kills with 14 and hitting percentage of .444. She also had five blocks. Heidi Kramer added 12 kills on the day.
Brittanie Paulus played another solid game with 11 kills and led the team in digs with 26. Tonia Strbelinski and Whitney Helbach also contributed 12 and 10 digs defensively. Jessica Sparling also assisted 52 attacks.
In the win against Lawrence, Kramer showed her offensive talents by leading the team with 13 kills and a .294 hitting percentage. Ashley Domask added nine kills along with 10 digs on the night. In just three games, Sparling had an amazing 42 assists, averaging 14 assists a game.
On defense, Paulus continued to show her defensive efforts by leading the team in digs with 20, aided by Sparling's 11 digs.
