During the consolation game of the "Play with Grace" Tip-Off Tournament on Nov. 18, Lakeland destroyed MacMurray 69-39.
Lakeland started off by keeping pace with MacMurray, but the Muskies surged past them with a 13-0 run that put them up by 15 with over nine minutes left in the half. Lakeland went into the half with a 31-17 lead and never looked back.
Jenna Boehm led the Muskies in scoring with 13 points on four of eight shooting with three rebound and three assists. Boehms two day performance that included 29 points and eight rebounds earned her a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
The three starting freshman guards played well with Brittanie Paulus leading the trio with nine points, three assists, and four steals. KC Blahnik compiled eight points along with two steals and five rebounds. Megan Chart scored seven points and had two assists.
"I would say that our guard play was a lot better," said head coach April Arvan. "Our young kids looked to score, took care of the basketball and had seven steals between the three of them."
Lakeland shot an incredible 43 percent from the floor and built up a big enough lead to play their whole roster.
