Ty Herndon is no newcomer when it comes to being a country star. With a few CD releases during the 90's, Herndon sure knows how to put an album together.
Herndon's new CD, Right About Now, has a vast collection of new songs that are sure to please his fans. Even though he didn't co-write any of these songs, he puts his heart and soul into each and every one.
Herndon begins his CD with an easy listening tune entitled "Someday Soon." This song, like many country songs, talks about how love and faith will bring him and his love together in time.
My favorite song called "You Still Own Me," talks about a man selling many of his possessions and flying out to California to begin a new life. Even though he is overpowered by thinking of his love, this song is one that has nice lyrics and is great to listen to.
In "You Still Own Me," Herndon sings "I can go where I want to go/do what I want to do/be who I want to be/baby, you still own me. Say what I want to say/hear what I want to hear/dream what I want to dream/baby, you still own me."
A few songs later, "Right About Now" puts Herndon to the test and challenges him to sing in a range higher than what most men consider comfortable. It surprised me at first, but he does a good job putting this song together and making everything fit.
Herndon brings out the lyrics two songs later in "Hide." During this piece he sings to a woman who wants to be with him but doesn't know what she wants. He convinces her to believe him and trust him in her decision about what she wants.
The last song, entitled "There Will Be A Better Day," is a beautiful piece to end the album with. Herndon talks about faith and how it will get you through the hard times.
Overall, I think this is a great album to add to any country fan's collection. Ty Herndon may not be widely recognized by many people, but once listening to his assortment of new tunes, people will start recommending his music to others.
