The Lakeland College men's volleyball team (9-0, 3-0 WVC) remains undefeated this season after going 6-0 at the 16-team Badger Bump-A-Round Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 3, in Madison, Wis. The Muskies also emerged as tournament champions after winning the final match over UW-Madison, 2-0.

The Muskies started off the day with a win in three games over Eastern Illinois (23-25, 25-18, 15-7), aided by a 14 kill effort by senior outside hitter Matt Martin.

In the squad's victory over Wisconsin Volleyball Conference foe UW-Oshkosh 2 (25-15, 25-22), junior middle hitter Avdo Omerbegovic led the team with six kills and hit 75 percent while senior middle hitter Adam Plach recorded five kills and three digs.

Against Missouri, Omerbegovic led the team on offense once again with nine kills, while sophomore setter Matt Clemens put up 21 assists and had four digs in the 25-21, 25-17 win.

Martin would then take over the offensive reins for the Muskies' next three matches, recording nine kills in each match. In the squad's 25-20, 25-14 defeat of UW-Eau Claire, he also tallied two block assists while Clemens added 22 assists.

In the win over Milwaukee's Best (25-22, 21-25, 15-9), junior middle hitter Jared Rohland followed Martin in kills with seven and also went for five blocks, while Omerbegovic recorded six kills and blocks. In addition to his nine kills in the championship match win over UW-Madison (25-16, 25-19), Martin also added four digs.

"I am very pleased with how our performance and focus improved with each match," said head coach Chad Schreiber. "Every player contributed and filled their role. At the end of the day we faced a very good Wisconsin team. It was evident our guys were tired, but played out the long rallies for the difference in the match."
