Now this past week he did something that did not sit well with me. How to sum up the last week? Idol booted the crazy rock chick, kept the crazy bald guy, no personality singing girl and, as you know, Sanjaya.
Let's get to the recap. The top nine were coached by Tony Bennett. The night was dominated by Chris Richardson who sang "Don't Get Around Much Anymore," Jordin Sparks with "On a Clear Day," Melinda Doolittle who sang "I've Got Rhythm" and, closing the show, Lakisha Jones sang ""Stormy Weather."
The ones who sucked big time were Sanjaya and Haley Scornato, who sang "Ain't Misbehaving." Obviously, Sanjaya is still in but who left the show?
It was my girl Gina Glockson, the reason for my rage. Her performance was in the middle but I did not think she sucked that bad. The bottom three was made up of Phil Stacey, Haley and Gina. First to be safe was Phil. Gina and Haley in the bottom two. I mean, it was obvious. Haley can't sing, especially not in comparison to Gina. Ryan announces the results and my jaw drops. Gina is leaving us.
It wouldn't have been a big deal if that girl wouldn't have tried out for Idol three times, got rejected twice and made it this far on her third try. But then to be outsung by Haley and Sanjaya? Not fair.
On a different note. Melinda has gotten all the praise so far and as Simon Cowell stated he is almost bored with never saying anything bad to her.
However, did anybody know that she auditioned as a joke? US Weekly magazine reported that she went down to see the performances and the girls in her car made a deal that each of them had to audition as well. Turns out she was the only one who got through and look at her now. She will most likely take the crown as the next Idol. I always said, "Listen to your friends. They know what is best for you."
Simon has made some interesting statements in the past few weeks. If Sanjaya continues to do so well and wins the show then Simon will quit. However, according to Idol producer Ken Warwick it is not true and Simon was just trying to make a point. And why would he leave? He is working for the number one show in America, he loves the fighting and attention he gets, he is making alot of money and, a major point, he is signed through season nine of Idol. I don't think Sanjaya will win at all. The same thing happened in season four with Scott but he was gone before it came down to the finale and is not making much money anymore. So no worries there.
Overall, it was a sad week as Gina left. Next week will be even more interesting as viewers will wonder if Sanjaya will stay in the game and get more pissed if he does not leave. However, people, stop calling for him and you can relieve us of our pain and suffering.
