The Lakeland tennis team has had some severe schedule reconstruction this season due to the recent poor weather. In two weeks, the team has only had two meets between rain outs and freezing temperatures. One of these two accomplished meets marked the first victory for the Muskies this season. This victory sets their record at 1-5 overall and 1-1 in conference.
Concordia University of Wisconsin swept the Muskies on March 29 on the road, 9-0. Most matches were not even close as all singles matches were won in two blow out sets. In doubles, Andre Glass and Matt Rutlin fought hard but lost 8-6.
On April 1, Lakeland ran all over the Regents from Rockford College 9-0. The Muskies swept Rockford in doubles play and singles. In singles Andre Glass at number one seed and Drazen Cvijanovic at number four seed both swept their opponents in two sets, 6-0; 6-0. Andrew Waters also picked up a forfeit victory due to Rockford's five-man team.
The tennis squad goes on the road once again to face non-conference opponent Carroll College on April 15 at noon in Waukesha, Wis.
