"I think it will go well. Our numbers are up. Two years ago we were sitting at about seven athletes. Last year we moved up to about fifteen, and this year we're over thirty."
This will be the first year that Lakeland competes in many of the events. "We didn't have distance last year. We didn't have any throwers last year."
"A lot of freshman coming in, and even people new to track but have been around Lakeland for a while. So it's kinda nice to get some of those people out," said Brooks.
Brooks seems excited to say, "We'll pretty much be competing in everything, except pole vault, at the indoor meet."
Returning high jumpers, Luke Herriges and Julius Higgs, who tied for first at last year's outdoor conference, will be vital members of the men's team this year.
Amy Christenson and Maggie Short will both be competing in the 200 this year, while Christenson will also compete in the 400.
The first competition is Feb. 16 at Oshkosh's indoor meet.
They will also compete on Feb. 29 for the indoor conference.
